Via Mundo is a Brazilian organization specialized in cultural educational and work trips and programs. It is based in São Luís, Maranhão, Brazil, and was founded in 1999 from the necessity of intensifying the activity of intercultural exchange as well as of promoting Brazil and its Northeastern region as educational and tourist destinations.
Our organization built its reputation as one of the pioneer agencies in the Northern and Northeastern regions of the country for its direct connections with international organizations, for its creativity and professionalism in the work with international education and for the good quality of its programs and services.
Since the beginning, besides the partnerships with international organizations, Via Mundo has developed local partnerships with elementary and secondary schools, language schools, as well as with private and public colleges and universities.
In 2001, Via Mundo started its inbound program, the "High School Program in Brazil" (Programa de Intercâmbio Cultural no Brasil), turning Maranhão and the Brazilian Northeastern region into cultural destinations for foreign High School students.
Via Mundo built its reputation as one of the pioneer agencies in the Northern and Northeastern regions of the country for its direct connections with international organizations, for its creativity and professionalism.Since 2006, we have also placed higher education students in Brazilian private colleges and universities, with the intent of promoting the educational exchange at a higher level.
All these inbound programs promote Brazilian culture and the Portuguese language at an international level, and present Brazilian educational and tourist potentialities to the world.
Another achievement was the development of partnerships with organizations in other Brazilian states, as well as the fact that, besides students and professionals from our state, more and more, travelers from other places in Brazil, and from abroad, have chosen Via Mundo as their intercultural exchange organization.
