Students learn and have fun at the same time, enjoying the best Brazil has to offer.

    Duration and Program Dates

The Program has three different durations: 2, 3 or 4 weeks, usually starting in the last week of June/first week of January every year.

  • Portuguese is one of the fastest-growing languages in Europe, South America and South Africa (UNESCO).

VIA MUNDO language school is focused in teaching Portuguese as a foreign language through a Communicative approach. It is also a member of BELTA (Brazilian Educational and Language Travel Association).

  • Candidates from 14 years-old on from all countries can take part in the Program.

    Knowing Portuguese is not mandatory.

  • Students are offered comfortable and modern facilities. You will study General Portuguese, mostly in the morning shift (but sometimes in the afternoon, when there is a morning activity).

Portuguese language is taught by qualified teachers and studied through a specific method of Portuguese as a Foreign Language. At the end of the Program, you will receive a certificate (based on a 75% minimum attendance).

    Activities and Trips

Every day, from Monday to Friday, you will enjoy a different activity, which will allow you to practice Portuguese as well as to experience aspects from the local culture.

The activities may include: dancing lessons, soccer, beach volleyball, slackline, surf, kite surf, Capoeira, social projects, arts or percussion workshops, visits to the historical center, to museums, among others. During the weekends, you can also take optional trips, like the one to the National Park of “Lençóis Maranhenses”, elected as the Brazilian first natural wonder.

You will be hosted at a Brazilian homestay, where you will have your daily meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and share some moments to practice Portuguese and immerse in the local culture. Our homestays are carefully selected.

  • Application Process

You must fill out the Application Form through a partner agency in home country or directly with Via Mundo’s office (in case there is not a partner agency in home country). After receiving the Application Form, the Program team will review it, check for pending information and issue acceptance and placement letters.

    Visa Application

Brazilian government requires a temporary visa for studies in the country. Visa requirements must be confirmed at a Brazilian Consulate/Embassy in your home country. Via Mundo will issue some of the necessary documents for visa application and send them to the partner agency or to you in advance.
